My political career started in 1974 with Whetstone Parish Council, which I served for 24 years. I became a member of Harborough District Council in 1999 and have served to date for 16 years. I was made a member of Leicestershire County Council in 2005, I served as a Magistrate in Leicestershire for 26 years, retiring in June 2011.
