Biography:

Janette Ackerley was born in Lutterworth. She retired after teaching Science at Lutterworth High School for over twenty years. Janette became a member of Lutterworth Town Council in 1983 and has served as Town Mayor for three terms. Janette was appointed as a Magistrate in 1996 and since the recent closure of the Court in Market Harborough, is a member of the Leicester Thursday bench and a member of the Youth Panel. Janette was first elected to Harborough District Council in 2007. She enjoys cycling, canoeing and spending time with her two Grandchildren
