Cllr Buddy Anderson serves as the Vice Chairman of Harborough District Council. He supports the Chairman in representing the Council at civic functions and at local events around the district.
Beyond his ceremonial duties, he has held the position of Chair of the Services and Communities Scrutiny Panel since 2024. In this capacity, he leads the evaluation of cabinet decisions, ensuring they meet the needs of residents and maintain high standards of efficiency and accountability.
Before moving into his current leadership positions, Cllr Anderson was a voice for the younger generation. He served as Young Persons Champion for over two and a half years, a role he held until his resignation in 2025. During this time, he acted as a bridge between the Council and the district's youth, championing initiatives to improve engagement such as the Harborough Youth Council.
Outside of his specific appointments, Cllr Anderson is an active ward councillor for Great Bowden & Arden who has advocated for local governance reforms, including the backing of a town council plan for Market Harborough to protect local voices. He has worked in the regulatory finance sector for 11 years and is a proud father.
